I went for a long drive this morning, and was able to listen to quite a bit of my favorite radio station -
Underground Garage on Sirius/XM.
They play a seamless mix of old and new rock and roll. Sometimes you hear something fresh and exciting, and
it turns out to be Twiggy from the late '60s. Other times, you may find yourself listening to something that sounds a lot like British Invasion circa 1963 - and discover it's the latest from
Kaiser George & the Hi-Risers.
Today, I want you to
see and hear the Noisettes - a great trio from the U.K.
Lead singer (and bass player) Shingai Shoniwa (above) will put you in mind of the great girl-group voices of the early '60s, without ever seeming stale or retro. They have a very exciting sound... see if you agree.
