Tiny Tim (Herbert Butros Kaury; 1932-1996) was a legitimate oddball with a love for old-timey songs. His shtick (falsetto voice and ukulele in a tote bag) didn't seem terribly out of place during the "flower power" era wherein he briefly rose to fame.
He had a hit record ("Tiptoe Through the Tulips") and album (
God Bless Tiny Tim). His wedding, televised on
The Tonight Show attracted 40 million viewers.
Here's one of Tiny's better songs - "
Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" - as performed on Australian television.
