One of things that worries me about the current incarnation of Saturday Night Live is its perceived inability to recognize when a recurring sketch just isn't working.
Case in point, I know of absolutely no one that can rationally claim to enjoy Kristen Wiig's Gilly characater - and yet there she is every other week playing to a mostly-bemused audience in studio 8H.
Now comes the alarming news that NBC has given a go to a "Gilly" hosted Christmas Special. SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas (Oh, What an original title!) will air December 17 at 8:00 pm EDT.
