Here's one of my favorite videos and one of my favorite pop songs. It's "Carrie-Anne" performed by The Hollies on the Smothers Brothers show in 1968.Graham Nash (above) reportedly wrote the song with Marianne Faithfull in mind (Hey, Marianne?) - but was too shy to use her name in the finished version; hence the change.
The steel drum solo was revolutionary at the time.
