Helen Shapiro

Helen Shapiro was the biggest female star in Britain in 1963. So big, in fact, that the Beatles (who offered her the song "Misery", which she turned down) were her opening act during their first national tour.

Here's a clip of Helen with three other famous pop stars of the day performing "Look Who It Is". Don't let the big voice fool you, she was all of 16 when this was broadcast.
